A shipment can be booked for transport yet remain delayed if invoices, classifications or consignee instructions are incomplete. Cross-border planning starts with clearly identifying the goods, parties to the transaction, applicable Incoterm and import/export responsibilities.

WHEN TO CONSIDER THIS SERVICE
Relevant to imports, exports, cross-border road movements, consolidated shipments and cargo that must satisfy product-specific licences, permits or inspection requirements.
01 / TRANSPORT OPTIONS
Service arrangements to compare
Freight quotations need a clearly defined scope. These are the main configurations we review for your shipment.
01
Document readiness review
Check that the commercial invoice, packing list, transport details and shipper/consignee instructions are complete before handing them to the responsible broker or carrier.
02
Classification and origin questions
Flag missing HS classification, commodity origin, product descriptions or supporting certificates for review by the responsible trade professional.
03
Broker coordination
Where agreed, coordinate required details with a properly authorised customs broker rather than implying that Apex performs licensed brokerage services itself.
04
Duties, taxes and release handover
Clarify who is importer of record, who pays applicable duties and taxes, and what evidence of clearance is required before freight can be delivered.
02 / INFORMATION CHECKLIST
What to prepare for your quote
Send enough detail to avoid inaccurate rate assumptions or delays at carrier acceptance.
✓Commercial invoice showing buyer, seller, value, currency and goods description
✓Packing list with piece counts, weights and detailed packaging information
✓HS tariff classification and country of origin where known
✓Correct shipper, consignee and importer-of-record details
✓Incoterms, permits, certificates and broker authorisations where required
03 / OPERATIONAL REVIEW
What happens before a booking
The booking process depends on actual cargo and route conditions, not on a published estimate alone.
01Identify the export and import jurisdictions and responsible parties.
02Collect commercial and transport documents before scheduled handover.
03Route technical classification and declaration questions to the authorised trade specialist.
04Confirm clearance or release instructions before arranging onward transport.
04 / IMPORTANT CONDITIONS
Know what is—and isn't—confirmed
Transport and service availability
Only duly authorised parties should make customs declarations. Duties, tariffs, inspections, licence requirements and admissibility are determined by applicable rules; Apex does not guarantee customs release or exemptions.
What will affect my quotation?
The collection and delivery locations, type of goods, packaged measurements, weight, ready date, carrier availability and the specific work included at origin and destination.
What about tracking and updates?
Once a shipment record has been created, you can view reported milestones using its Apex tracking reference. Reported checkpoints are not continuous GPS tracking.
Can I request extra handling?
Yes. Tell us about unusual dimensions, regulated goods, fragility or special conditions when you enquire, so we can review whether the required handling can be arranged.
